My holiday in Prague/Dresden/Wien (2000)

Page Description

Here are some wonderful photos from my holiday in Prague, Dresden and Vienna back in September 2000, together with my neighbour friend Etienne. I was astonished and marvelled with the beauty of these countries, especially Prague. You find everything any tourist dreams of here, such as historical buildings, wonderful country side, huge shops and supermarkets at cheap prices, excellent food, peaceful parks, and lots of cute girls too. There is lot of entertainment, and the city contains lots of tourist attractions. In Summer the climate is great too. Here you find some of the many places we visited.

This is a view from one of the several bridges there are across the river in Prague. I don't remember the name of the bridge but I am sure that it is not Charles Bridge. Along the bridge there are small terraces like this one here, where one can appreciate better the wonderful view that there is.

This is one of the numerous old churches in the center of the city. The building is also high and made of stone bricks. This is a type of modern structure of building, because the old ones are usually highly decorated and painted in various light colours

Another alter, this time of a small church, which if not mistaken is owned by a type of nuns. What special about this church is the 'Bambino of Prague' (Boy Jesus of Prague) which in the photo is seen in green in the middle of the altar. Every day, the dress of Jesus-Boy is changed to a different one according to the catholic calendar or activity of the church. This was a very famous site an many tourist visit it. Here you can also buy different types of souvenirs regarding the Bambino of Prague, including statues of different sizes and different dresses of the Babmino.

This photo shows how beautiful and rich are the altars, statues and decorations inside many churches. The yellow metal is likely to be gold. Every corner is decorated artistically and it makes inside a really beautiful yet relaxing place to stay and make some prayers.

This is one of the most beautiful and luxurious and decorated terraces I have ever seen in my life. Unfortunately I don't remember what the place was, but it could be some embassy for example!

Again eating in Dresden. as soon as we arrived about 10:30 am. ! Here I am, hungry as a wolf eating one of the famous take away food called Druner (or Doner?!). They are very delicious and contain all sorts of ingredients. It is a sort of local Kebab. This part of Dresden was a large square with modern large shops and various places to eat.
