6 hours walk along the Eastern Coast of Gozo
March 2004

Page Description This photogallery consists of many photos from a holiday to Gozo that I and my girlfriend Malin did between 18-21 March 2004. The photos are mostly taken for a special planned event that is a long walk of about 12-14km we made around the Eastern Coast of Gozo with our friends Simone camilleri and her boyfriend Piotr from Ludz. (click on icon to view the way we walked on a large detailed map). The walk started from Hondoq ir-rummien, to Ras il-Qala, ghar dorf, Dahlet Qorrot, San Blas, Mistra Rocks, ir-Ramla, and finally Marsalforn. This walk took us 6 hours, and was a mixture of exercise, adventure, wonderful views and fun. This particular page contains 10 photos taken during the walk from Rdum il-Kbir, via r-Ramla l-Hamra (where we had a break) and then to Rdum Venuta (Venuta Cliffs) limits of Xaghra, as indicated in the map here. For each photo below, there is a brief text explaining the photo. Names are taken from a map. Now there was a little change in teh scenario. The coast line was now made up of this bluish ash-grey flattened rock made of clay. The pale grey clay rock and the golden rocks really made a nice contrasting picture, as shown in this photo. It was very windy here, proved by the numerous waves. We sat on the golden sand and rested for another while. It was very windy and sand was flying in our faces. It spoiled a bit the break so we did not stayed here for long. I decided not to take a photo here to protect the camera from the sandy winds. We left the bay at about 16:15 GOZOWALK1-68: Walk around the Eastern Coast of Gozo (Mar/04) Click here for to view a medium Sized Photo (about 120 Kb) This beautiful rocky and shallow bay is found few minutes of walk from ramla Bay (just visible at the left edge of the photo. lt is ideal to come here if Ramla is full of people, but I think many Gozitans already know about it. We now have a long journey to Marsalforn. GOZOWALK1-70 Walk around the Eastern Coast of Gozo (Mar/04) Click here for to view a medium Sized Photo (about 120 Kb) Another nice bay with many golden rocks, inviting blue green sea and a flat clay slopes to sun bath comfortably in the blazing sun of Summer. Unfortunately this shore is not easily accessible and so very little hopes for us to come here in some Summer holiday.
