Few kilometers away from Old Riga is this large Lutheran Church of St. Gertrude (Gertrudes church in Latvian).

A very beautiful and large building at the corner just opposite St. Gertrude's Church. On the Map it is marked as "Ekonomikas Ministrija" which i guess it is the building for the Ministry of Economy of Latvia. Being painted in pink, perhaps the minister of Economy of Latvia is a Lady!

Unlike in Tallin, in Riga we encountered several beggars trying to attract the attention of the tourists for a tossing coin or two by various means like playing music, dancing, or any activity or they just lay in a corner and let their pitiness do the job. This photo is of two old people playing their music in one of the busiest streets in Riga. I gave some money to these guys

Two children playing the traditional key harp. Despite their young age they played very good music. We gave money too these as well.

This was the funniest beggar of all Riga. She had a crappy radio playing the same old tape of disco-like dance music and she danced like a ballerina with this red costume. She repeated the same dancing move all the time, it was like watching those steelspring-controlled music boxes with the ballet dancer on the top. She was there on the same spot any hour we passed the street with her dance. She merited some money from us too.

Other beggars cannot perform anything and they just lay on the street all day hoping for someone to be touched by their pitiness. Everyone looking, none giving. Malin wanted to give something to this lady but I stopped her because I wanted to give the last coins to another beggar that I fancied which had a rodent running on her head. She used to move her head sideways and the poor rodent runs on her head trying to keep at the top. Unfortunately it turned out that she was not in her usual spot at that time.
