We spent a rainy day in a large shopping complex called Idea Park, few kms away from central Tampere. A very large and modern complex which also incorporates few attraction. Shops varies (not all just clothes) and there were toy shops, electronic shops, supermarket, book shops, gemstone shop (very interesting, there I have seen even fossils of trilobytes! - see image 52) and a number of restaurants and cafeterias. Miranda liked this curtain of smoke in one of the corridors.

In Ideapark, there was the largest toy shop that I have ever visited. I think if you combine all the toyshops in Malta, it will not superate this shop both in size and items for sale. Everything well organised, priced, categorised and plenty of space to roam around. Here is Miranda testing some toys ;-)

One of the many shops in Ideapark was selling items made from natural (geological) resources, mainly jewellery and decorations made of gem stones, but it also had other non-imaginable items like real trilobyte fossils - incredible

During the first days in Tampere we visited a natural area called Pyynikki nature conservation area situated over a high hill. We managed to climb our way up through pathways in the forest and enjoyed it. There were many sites to check but we did not have enough time.

The main attraction of Pyynikki nature conservation area is a tower and cafeteria at the top of the hill offering beautiful views over Tampere. Despite the clear skies, it rained alot about 1 hour later from this photo (inpredictible weather in Finland!)

Tampere also have a very interesting, large Arboretum. The walking tracks are clear and easy to walk on, lawn nicely moaned, very clean, spacious and several sites to visit. Apart numerous ornamental flowering arrangements in situ (as shown in this photo), there was a Rose garden, stone plants, aromatic herb plants, swamp plants, each exhibiting 100-200 different species of plants all labelled (except the swamp area since on cant walk along). Many of the trees were also labelled. We came last year to visit the Arboretum, but we could not find it, but this year we managed to lcoate it.
