Full repair description and observations |

The power supply was
first analysed, since the fault is most probably there. The fuse was not
blown and the 240V ac were present up to the rectifying IC. |

Following the track, the
–ve side of the capacitor was a burnt resistor, about 2W from its size, and
still visible the markings stated 2.2Ohms. This was of course found open. |
|
|
4 |
Following further the
track, the real problem was found: IC STRD 1816 (5 pin) was short circuit. |
|
|
5 |
Both the IC and the
resistor was replaced, and also replaced 2 other
capacitors which I read that it may have casued the IC to blow. These were a
47uF/50V (C??) and a 2.2uF/450V (C9). I powered up and everything went
smooth. |
