Malin sitting on a natural bench-like rock at Wied ghasri. This yellowish rock is one of the most important layers of rocks and is called Globigerina limestone. It is the main source for making building blocks / bricks from which our houses are built from.

Another feature of the Globigerina limestone is the sedimentation of many sea fossils, especially shells. Also common are teeth of many fish, like those of sharks. It is thought that this layer of rock was formed by the sedimentations of soil carried in the sea from the mainland and bones + skeletons of sea creatures living maybe millions of years ago. Then the sea level dropped and this layer of rock emerged. I am not an expert on this topic so you have to confirm the info out.

This is a new bay called San Blas Bay that I and Malin discovered. For both of us it was the first time we went here. I must say that this beach is also wonderful, very similar to Ramla Bay with its golden/reddish sand and blue/green crystal water. In fact it is the next bay to the east near Ramla bay.

The problem with this bay is that it is small, not much place to park the car and when going back there is a very high and long steep (hill) to climb so that you arrive to your car. No restaurants here, but there was a man selling umbrellas, and I noted that he had water and ice-cream for sale. However, not much people will be here and it could easily be that during week nobody comes to this 'unknown' bay and so you may end up of having like a private beach for your own. Another bonus is that there is no stones in the sea, unlike Ramla bay!

Another wonderful view of San Blas bay. Here you can see the steep slope that one should go down by walk (and so then climb up) to arrive to the bay. Unless you have some jeep, It is highly not recommended to go further down by car. Somewhere from where I took this photo there is a small clearing, where one can park the car, but there is not more space for 6 - 7 cars.

We came to this beach twice, and on the second time the sea was so wavy. It was really fun to jump and 'play' with the waves, as these photos proves. There are also movie clips of Malin and myself having fun with the waves at the end of the photo gallery.

This cute dog was also present on the beach, and he was sniffing the air as if he was sensing something strange coming up. Actually, few days after Malta suffered one of the worse and largest storm ever.
