The flying saucer-shaped structure on top of Bratislava's New Bridge 85 metres above ground is a Cafe-Restaurant re-opened to visitors following two years of refurbishment. The New Bridge, formerly known as the SNP Bridge, is the world's seventh largest suspension bridge and was declared the construction of the 20th century in Slovakia. It was built between 1967 and 1972 and a large part of the Bratislava Old Town had to give way to this symbol of Communist modernity. The upper deck was inaccessible in the Communist era as it gave great views of capitalist Asutria.
