The Fast Forward /
Rewind function was easily fixed by changing the belt connecting the FF/REW
gear and Motor |

Similarly, the noise on
changing the volume was due to a dirty volume potentiometer. Cleaning this
with contact spray solved this problem too. |

Finally, a service was
given to the radio which included changing of other belts in the cassette
section, cleaning user switches and pots, and polishing the outside cover. |
Precautions, fouls and advises |

The cover was very
tricky to place back because of the tuning knob. In fact It took 40 minutes
of patience to close the align the 2 nipple like projections of the tuning knob into the 2 holes
of the tuning wheel mechanism. It was finally done by inserting just one
nipple, rotating the wheel 180 degrees without letting it the former slip
apart, and insert the second nipple. Placing the two nipples in the holes
simultanously was impossible. |
