After seeking advice I
was told that this is a fault due to a leeky capacitor in the tuner section. |
2 |
The tuner board was removed from the
television and after removing its cover, 4 electrolytic capacitors were found
in one of the two compartments of the tuner. |
3 |
3 of these capacitors were small in
capacitance (1 - 2.2 uF) while the other had a larger value (470uF/10V). |
4 |
The small capacitors had
a good capacitance value, while the big one had a low capacitance which
increased a little in value when warmed with the hands! Very interersting!!
When heated up by soldering iron or flame, the value rose very near to the
stated value. |
5 |
First I replaced the 3
small capacitors, but the fault was not corrected. |
6 |
However on replacing the
large capacitor, as expected, the fault was repaired and there was no more picture
shivering. |
