This is maybe the first building you notice when you arrive to this lovely village of Jakobstad - Pietersaari in Finnish (the fact that in Swedish the city name is 'Jakob', while in Finnish is 'Peter' is a big mystery). This building is called Rådhuset which is the city hall where important meetings take place.

This is one of the largest buildings in Jakobstad and it consists of many offices for high authorities and important people in Jakobstad.

This is a large clock in a building called Strengbergs factory. The factory used to produce cigarettes, but now it had been closed for several years. The clock shows 9:05, and it is not in the morning as you have thought but in the night! By the way, it was 21st June, the longest day in Finland. It could be light up to 11:00pm

Some more building in Jakobstad, this time an electricity company. Very tall chimney indeed, poor Santa Claus!

Here is a large camping site called Svanen some km away from the centre of Jakobstad. This photo is taken from a bridge over a small water passage probably from the nearby sea with large trees at both banks.

This is the view at the other side of the bridge, where there is a small lake in the middle of the camping site.

This is the high college of Jakobstad where students between 16 -18 years go to study. What's nice about this college is the beautiful and large park that it has, as one can see from the photo. It is more large than it is shown here and there is a fountain, plenty of different trees, an area where different flower species are grown, and some benches to sit and rest. It also seems to be the meeting place for some youths.

This is a part of the park where there were sown several plant species, namely flowers and small trees. Each species was labeled with its corresponding Swedish name and latin (scientific name). I particularly liked this purple and white flower tree (same as Malin clothes)

This is a photo taken from the old town of Jakobstad. This house was one of the largest and beautiful in this old part. The circular window with a the pattern of a cross may indicate that it maybe some type of church or religious building.

And finally this is one of my favourite's photos of Malin and me taken in one of the main streets in Jakobstad, few minutes before leaving it. Here were many people, and also some take away shops, small shops and a large shopping complex called Halpa Hall.
