This was another building which I liked very much. As many buildings here, this consisted of many identical large windows, colourful painting, pronounced terrace - this one in form of a small tower - and architectural detail at window edges or roof borders.

Further close up of the wind marker at the top of the 'tower' showing the date 1901-1987. I wonder what those dates mean!

This is a cute, colourful old-style but well kept train. It works perfectly and is used to transport people (probably tourist) around the city. Of course it does not travel on rails but has been modified to travel in the vehicle-roads. So maybe one can say that it is a road-vehicle with the shape of a classic old train. But still, it was nice to see it running every now and then along the streets of Vasa.

This is a more economical, faster but less stylish way of public transport in vasa - the CITY BUS!

This is a shelf full of delicious looking jams made from fruit and berries commonly found in Vasa and many forests in Finland. Cloudberry, Raspberry, Blueberry, Lignon, and Strawberry are just few examples. I did not resist the temptation and bought one from the top shelf. It was made from a fruit which in Swedish it says "havtorn". I tried for translating it and the online dictionary stated "Sea bucktorn", Never heard off but its fruit are small, orange, and berry-like. Actually it was good jam with a particular taste but i thought it was more sweetish.

Some wooden craftwork from Vasa. Wood is plenty here so it was no wonder that many souvenirs are made from wood.

Some more wooden decorations, which I believe they are made from fine wood and professionally polished becasue they were quite expensive.

This was a strange pendulum in the college Vasa where Malin studied (Photo: VASA-04). it looked to be a pendulum clock at first sight but on examining it I could not see anywhere the clock. However it could be that the clock is on the outside wall, hence the main clock on the front wall of the college (Photo: VASA-05)
