This photogallery consists of many photos during our 8 days vacation in Tampere, South of Finland. We have visited numerous places mostly nature areas like Pyynikki, Viikin Island (Viikinsaari), and Seitseminen Nature reserve, but also large shopping complex (Ideapark) the well known amusement park of Sarkanniemi, and a number of churches in central Tampere such as Alexander church, the cathedral and the old church. We spent many hours bathing in cool-water lakes (example Kaukajarvi) and roaming in the streets of Tampere centre.

Another interesting attraction in Sarkanniemi was a delphinarium. There was a show every 3 hours or so and we really liked it. Miranda was astonished. I never seen dolphins before and liked the show very much.

One thing which dolphins amazed me was how high they can jump out of water. A 500kg creature that can jump some 6m high (maybe even more - just an estimation!) from a rather small pool.

Another site in Sarkanniemi was full of these aming games were you can win some soft toy. I malin and Miranda played a total of 7 games and I managed to get 2 sof toys. Was very please with that!

A very fun item is the log-canoe. Quite peaceful ride over a narrow stream of water which at the end it goes up some 15m high and goes down with a big splash of water.

Thanks God, Miranda loved the trolley and so Martyn could stay in the the pushchair!

Well, there are much more sites to explore in Sarkanniemi and there was also a Planetarium with an amazing 3D film projected on a semi-spherical roof in complete darkness. Very interestin combining both scientific explanation with a touch of fun for mature children. You can ask for headphones to listen the movie in English. In the corridor there was a number of photos related to astronomy including the famous auroras as seen from Tampere.
