We stopped at Vaskikello in order to take a look at the vast collection of bells in many difference sizes and shapes. The first bell was collected in 1973, and now the collection consists of more than 1,500 bells. The largest bell is on the upper level of this bell tower.

This is Finland's largest church bell, the diameter is 255cm and the total weight is over 8,000 kilograms! It was manufactured in Germany in the 1920s. The Parish of Tutzing sold it together with some other bells under the conditions that they be placed so people can see them and that they be treated with respect.

If you are lucky you can hear this bell tower play different tunes. Each bell has a different musical tone, and by means of a mechanical program, a tune is created by stricking the different bells accordingly to the music notes.

This is a building in the Bomba house area near the town Nurmes. The Bomba house and the Karelian holiday resort were built in Ritoniemi in Nurmes in 1978.
The holiday resort has been built according to the Karelian culture and comprises hotel accommodation and restaurant services (serving a tasty buffee with typical Karelian food), conference rooms in Kalevanhovi, a tsasouna (an Orthodox prayerhouse) for calming down and composing oneself, a souvenir shop, the summer market place Jarmanka as well as a summer theatre.

View of one of the numerous lakes along the road between Nurmes and Koli in Eastern Finland. The scenery was very nice here, finding small islands in large lakes, and even other lakes inside such islands!
