My visit in Sweden and Finland (2002)
On Thursday (day 4) I and Malin had to travel to Finland, which is the nationality and birth place of Malin. We had to go to Bennas, Finland. We had to travel by Ferry from Stockholm to Helsinki together with Malin's car, and then she had to drive from Helsinki to Bennas with her car, which consisted of a 6 hour trip! The ferry had to land in a complex of islands, situated between Finland and Sweden called Alland. It seems that this is a free tax zone and doing so, the ship shops allow the sale of item tax-free price.
The experience of the ferry was a new and wonderful one. First of all the ferry is not an ordinary vessel, but I compare it to a little cruise liner type. You have your own room to sleep and stay (complete with shower), and there are also aboard various shops, restaurants, pubs, cafeteria, a casino and many other places. The ferry was 12 decks high, apart from the captain room above.
The trip was very beautiful because the weather was not bad, and the scene during the trip was very beautiful becasue it is not just see, but you can see the numerous small islands along the voyage. Some islands are just about 30 metres area. Then there is also the fact that it does not get dark during this period of the year in Scandinavia.
It was really a fantastic trip

On Thursday afternoon, we had to travel from StockHolm to Helsinki by a ferry. The ferry can be described as a small cruise liner with many facilities such as shops, pubs, cafeterias, restaurants, saunas, sun decks, casino, jackpots, and your own room. Here is a large map which shows the way the ferry has to travel and at what point it has arrived. It had to stop on the island of alland first and then to Helsinki. The map cannot be appreciated due to the reflection of the glass.

From the sun deck, you can watch the wonderful scenes and panorama, mainly of the islands and lakes scattered around the coast of Sweden. I think there are islands here as much as there are stars in the sky. Some islands are just few metres large, and some are just up to water level. Light houses are obviously very common on these islands.

Another small islands with some cottages built on. I would really like to be an owner of such house, or better to say, owner of my little island!!

Accompanying our trip where dozens of seagulls hovering around the ferry. There must be a good reason why many seagulls travel along with the ferry. Perhaps they know that it goes to Alland or Helsinki?!
